I'm locked out of my thermostat – what should I do?

Follow this guide to learn how to regain access if you're locked out of your thermostat or how to implement and disable locks when needed.

Locked Out of Your Thermostat?

If you find yourself locked out of your thermostat and need access or want to make specific temperature adjustments, here's what you can do:

Contact Your Manager: Reach out to your designated manager or person responsible for thermostat access within your organization. They should be able to provide you with the passcode to unlock your thermostat, or execute the desired changes on your behalf.

If Your Manager is Unavailable: Please contact support@glaciergrid.com and we will help you make changes to your thermostat.

Why does GlacierGrid recommend locking your thermostat?

Implementing a lock/unlock code on your thermostat provides various benefits such as:

  • Temperature Control: Implementing a lock/unlock code on a thermostat allows designated personnel, typically managers or administrators, to have control over temperature settings. This ensures that the thermostat settings are not tampered with by unauthorized individuals, maintaining a comfortable and productive workspace.
  • Energy Efficiency: Thermostat locks help in enforcing energy-efficient temperature settings. Managers can set the thermostat to a comfortable yet energy-saving range and prevent employees or customers from making drastic adjustments that may lead to excessive heating or cooling, resulting in energy and cost savings.
  • Reduced Maintenance: Preventing frequent thermostat adjustments can extend the life of the HVAC system and reduce maintenance costs. Unnecessary adjustments can strain the system and lead to premature wear and tear.
