How do I use Pre-Built Issue Configurations?
This article will walk you through how to use Pre-Built Issue Configurations to quickly set up standardized monitoring across your equipment and locations. The Pre-Built Issue Configuration modal now supports multi-select, allowing you to enable multiple issue templates at once. Instead of applying each template one at a time, you can select and apply several in a single step — making it faster to deploy monitoring across your account.
What are Pre-Built Issue Configurations?
Pre-Built Issue Configurations are ready-made issue templates with default thresholds and behavior logic already defined. They allow you to quickly set up common monitoring types across your equipment without needing to manually configure each setting from scratch. Available pre-built templates include:
- Food Safety Issues – monitors temp/humidity for coolers and freezers
- Connectivity Issues – detects devices that go offline
- Comfort Issues – monitors HVAC equipment for temperature problems
- Mechanical Issues – detects HVAC performance issues through supply air temperature behavior

How to enable Pre-Built Issue Configurations
- Log in to your Customer Dashboard
- Navigate to the Issues screen using the left-hand menu
- Select Issue Configs
- Click Add
- When prompted, choose Pre-Built Issue (rather than creating a custom issue)
- Click Pre-Built
- In the modal, select one or more issue templates you want to enable
- Confirm your selection — the system will automatically create the selected issues across all applicable equipment and locations
Things to keep in mind
- Pre-built issues apply to all equipment associated with the selected issue type. You cannot limit them to specific pieces of equipment during this step.
- Alerts are not automatically created when you enable a pre-built template. If you want to receive notifications, you'll need to configure alerts separately after the issue is created.
- Threshold adjustments must be made after creation by navigating to the Issue Config Details screen for that issue.
